This is an important message for anyone that drives their student to school. This morning, I met with the Plainfield Police about our morning arrival. Given the construction as well as the new design of the curbs and sidewalks, it is causing traffic backup. What we observed this morning was that parents are dropping students off at one spot only at the end of the sidewalk one at a time instead of going all the way down to our drop off lane. Tomorrow, you will see a staff member in a reflective vest at that spot waving drivers to move all the way down as far as possible in our drop off lane. There will be another staff member along the drop off lane indicating where to pull up to. Once stopped, please encourage your student to exit the car quickly. Please re-enter the flow of traffic on Eastern slowly and carefully to avoid incident. I will be down along the street tomorrow to help out along with the Plainfield Police Department.
