Indian Trail's Eighth Grade Promotion is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 24th, 2018. The Promotion Ceremony will be held at Plainfield High School Central Campus and will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. lasting no more than 45 minutes. Eighth grade students should be in their assigned seats in the Plainfield High School Field House at 4:30 p.m. The ceremony will take place in the gymnasium at Plainfield Central High School. Seating is limited to 4 tickets for each student and family. . You may call the Indian Trail main office to request up to an additional 4 tickets (8 total). Your 8th grade student will not need a ticket. Tickets will be passed out to students on May 24th, 2018 during the school day. Please ask for these tickets as soon as your student gets home that day, otherwise you will not be able to enter the gymnasium. In the event that you have even more people attending, there will be overage seating in the auditorium where the ceremony will be simulcast.
Each year we provide some guidelines regarding what is considered as appropriate attire for our eighth grade promotion. All students will be required to wear a green promotion gown over their outfits. Students will be measured for these gowns in February, and we will distribute them approximately 1 month before the ceremony. Appropriate dress for boys is dress pants, dress shirt, and tie. A sport coat or suit is also fine but not required. Girls may choose to wear a dress, skirt outfit, or a pantsuit. We discourage full length or "formal" gowns for this ceremony, and a reminder, that all school dress code guidelines apply. Flowers are not required but a few of our students' families choose to provide a boutonniere or corsage for their children. As we have had problems in the past with flowers that must be carried, we strongly encourage a boutonniere or corsage if you choose to provide flowers for your child.
If we can be of any further help as you plan family activities for the end of the school year, or if you have any questions concerning promotion, please call Mr. Luebbing at Indian Trail, 815-436-6128.
